So, a few months ago, I went on facebook and messaged a bunch of my art buddies who are into video games or actiony stuff or whatever, and asked them a few basic questions.
I said I’m drawing a bunch of friends as mercenaries as an exercise in capturing likeness and basic poses. So if you were a mercenary, what kind of armor would you wear (heavy, medium, light) and what class of fighter would you be (brawler, mele, gunslinger) and what kind of weapon would you use that goes with those two things (huge sword, light machine gun, throwing knives)? And then any little details they would like to have like a side arm or item.
So after I gathered all the answers, I decided on a style and ran with it. Here’s the result.
I plan on coloring it at some point and maybe adding a background of some kind, but for now, here’s the lines.
